TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR VOLUNTEERS
Tool Community Development Initiative (TCDI)

By signing this document, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to all terms and conditions outlined herein, as well as any attached policies provided by The Change Development Initiative (TCDI). Your signature constitutes full acceptance of this agreement.

You hereby agree to abide fully by TCDI’s Code of Conduct. This includes strict adherence to all policies prohibiting harassment, discrimination, exploitation, and any form of political or religious proselytizing while engaged in any volunteer activity or while representing the organization in any capacity. You agree to uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions with beneficiaries, staff, partners, and fellow volunteers.

You understand and agree to uphold a duty of strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive information. This obligation covers all beneficiary information, internal organizational matters, operational details, donor data, and any proprietary knowledge encountered during your service. You agree not to disclose, share, photograph, record, or publish any such information or images on personal or public platforms without the explicit prior written authorization from TCDI’s designated management. This confidentiality obligation continues indefinitely, even after your volunteer service ends.

You explicitly understand and agree that your role is strictly voluntary. This arrangement does not, under any circumstances, constitute an employment contract, consultancy agreement, or a promise of future paid work with TCDI. You acknowledge that you are not entitled to a salary, employee benefits, workers’ compensation, or any other form of remuneration for services rendered as a volunteer.

You confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to fulfill the specific duties, responsibilities, reporting lines, and time commitments as outlined in your official Volunteer Role Description, which will be provided to you separately. You agree to report to your designated supervisor, accept their guidance and direction, and participate in all mandatory training and evaluations related to your role.

Regarding financial responsibilities, you understand and agree to the following terms: TCDI will cover specific project-related expenses as pre-approved in writing by your supervisor, which may include local transportation during official duties, necessary training materials, and equipment directly required for your assigned tasks. You are personally responsible for all other costs, including but not limited to travel to and from your primary volunteer location, accommodation, all meals, comprehensive personal health and accident insurance, visa fees, vaccinations, and any personal items or equipment.

You grant TCDI a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use photographs, videos, audio recordings, written testimonials, or stories from your volunteer experience for the organization’s promotional, awareness, fundraising, and reporting purposes. You understand that TCDI will use these materials respectfully and in context. Furthermore, you agree that any work products, reports, documents, creative works, or materials you create in the course of your volunteer service shall be the sole intellectual property of The Change Development Initiative.

You understand that your volunteer agreement or TCDI’s programs may be terminated at the discretion of the organization, with or without cause. Grounds for immediate termination may include, but are not limited to, a breach of this agreement, violation of the Code of Conduct, failure to perform assigned duties satisfactorily, or any action deemed detrimental to the safety, reputation, or interests of TCDI or its beneficiaries.

For international placements or specific field programs, you commit to completing all mandatory pre-departure and in-country training, which includes modules on cultural sensitivity, safety protocols, security procedures, and emergency response. You further agree to respect and adhere to all local laws, customs, traditions, and the authority of TCDI’s in-country staff and partners at all times.

Signed:
